We are all born blind - born in sin. However, we have a Savior in Jesus. He rescues us and remolds us in order to be more like Him - casting off all the muck of sin and reshaping us into saints.
Photina first appears as an outcast, hiding from other people out of shame and then becomes a woman full of life - eager to proclaim the Good News. This transformation is so powerful, that Scripture tells us that others began to believe in Jesus too because of her testimony.
Whenever we have a mountaintop experience, it is tempting to want to remain there and to forsake the world. However, Jesus and the apostles did not remain at the top of the mountain. They eventually descended and marched forth to continue their mission here on earth.
