
FISH FRY VOLUNTEERS
1. Food Server: Responsible for dishing up the offered menu items in the serving line ensuring proper portion control and food safety standards. Volunteers must be friendly, efficient, and attentive to guests' needs. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to work in this role per kitchen safety rules.
2. Event Set Up: Assist in setting up tables with condiments, coffee, lemonade, water, and desserts. Volunteers should be able to follow instructions, lift moderately heavy items, and work efficiently within a team.
3. Event Greeter/Money Collector: Welcome guests as they arrive at the event, provide information, distribute food tickets, make change for the free will basket, and run the credit card machine. Volunteers should have excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and a helpful attitude. This role requires a credit check prior to serving in this capacity due to money handling.
4. Dining Room Assistance: Help with tasks such as assisting children and elderly with carrying their meals to their tables, bussing empty dishes, wiping tables, and ensuring guests have everything they need during their dining experience. Volunteers should be attentive, proactive, and service-oriented.
5. Runners: Assist with communicating between the serving line servers and the fish fry cooks in the cook tent when food is getting low on the serving line. Deliver cooked food from the cook tent into the kitchen as needed. Volunteers should be able to follow instructions, lift moderately heavy items, and work efficiently within a team. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to work in this role per kitchen safety rules.
6. Dishwashers: Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout the event. Duties include loading and unloading the commercial dishwasher and maintaining a tidy and organized dishwashing area. Volunteers should be detail-oriented, efficient, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Training provided.
7. Event Clean Up: Assist in wiping down and disassembling tables and putting them away. Clean up condiment tables and remaining desserts and ensure all items are bussed into the kitchen for dishwashers to clean. Volunteers should be able to follow instructions, lift moderately heavy items, and work efficiently to ensure the event space is returned to its original state. Attention to detail and teamwork are key in this role.
