Faith/Works is the social justice committee at the Church of St. Peter's. Our mission is to serve the parish as its primary resource and catalyst for works of charity and justice. We do this by facilitating projects which offer opportunities for all parishioners to practice acts of charity. We attempt to keep the poor and their needs uppermost in our efforts. We are always open to new ideas, needs and open to new members.
We sponsor bi-annual Food Drives for our local food shelves, quarterly sessions at Feed My Starving Children, an annual Military Outreach, and the Christmas Giving Tree. We also support Breaking Free, St. Andrews Homeless Shelter, and Hannah’s Arms.
It is God’s desire that we each experience inner joy and freedom, especially in those areas where we have been hurt in the past. Below you will find an explanation of the St. Peter Inner Healing Prayer Ministry which is intended to assist you through prayer in attaining new levels of inner healing through the grace of God.
"Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." - Proverbs 27:17
Men's Ministry meets once a month and consists of prayer, socialization, cigars, bonfire, refreshments, and much more!
All meetings take place from 6:45 pm — 8:45 pm at Tim Garry's home (980 13th Ave SE — a block from the parish).
St. Peter's Respect Life Committee was formed in 1986 to raise awareness and encourage action on the life issues of abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia. Under the direction of the Archdiocesan Respect Life program, our goals are met through efforts involving spiritual, educational, public policy, and service activities. The Respect Life Committee reflects the commitment of the Church to a comprehensive program of education, service, and witness modeled after the Bishop's Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities.
PAST AND PRESENT EFFORTS:
Our Committee usually meets Sept - June on the 1st Monday of the month. All are welcome!

The Seven Sisters Prayer Ministry is a parish-based ministry established for women to live out their vocation of Spiritual Maternity specifically for the assigned priests of the parish.
All women of the parish are invited to join in this ministry. A different spiritual mother is assigned each day of the week to pray for the priest and his intentions. The prayer time is one hour on their given day in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament either in the tabernacle or the Adoration Chapel. Fourteen spiritual mothers are needed for the ministry: Seven for our pastor, and seven for our parochial vicar. There is no monetary cost. Volunteer subs are also needed.
Please contact either Lisa Engstrom, the parish Pastoral Care Director at (651) 982-2229 or Angela Muttonen (651) 982-1626 for more information and to register for this ministry.

Consider spending a couple hours at the shelter to play games with kids, help with dinner, or be there overnight so a family without a home has a safe space to spend the night. Your help is most appreciated! Sign up to volunteer!

Vocation Chalice:
The Church of Saint Peter has been given a very special privilege. We have a consecrated chalice, which holds the Precious Blood of Jesus, to be shared by our Parish Family and brought into our homes for prayer.
The chalice should be kept in a place of honor in your home, and the prayer for priests and vocations or other prayers could be offered morning and evening or some other time that works for your family.
The use of sacramentals such as holy water, the rosary, blessed salt, and medals, is very much encouraged by the Church. What a gift to have this special sacramental for prayer to express our love and gratitude for our priests - those living, deceased, and even yet to be ordained.
For more information on the use of sacramentals, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church or The Catholic Source Book.
If you would like the opportunity to bring the sacred chalice into your home, please contact Lisa Engstrom at (651) 982-2229 or lengstrom@stpeterfl.org.
Young at Heart is a ministry targeting (but not limited to) people age 50+ who get together to pray and enjoy each other's company. Events include games, guest speakers, short trips, sharing meals, and fellowship.
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to provide a ministry
For mature adults of St. Peter’s Parish,
To offer them opportunities for
Spiritual growth, fellowship
And a means to express
Their needs as Members of the community.
We have put together programs that are of interest to both men and women. You may attend all or as many of the scheduled events as you wish. We do not require membership for Young at Heart - we simply encourage people to come together to meet one another and join in fun and fellowship.
