People Coordinator (Full Time)

The People Coordinator facilitates the service of lay parishioners and staff by serving as a resource in HR and volunteer coordination and management. Key responsibilities include aspects of recruitment, orientation, training, supervision and appreciation of volunteers, and assisting the Business Administrator with internal HR activities.

This is a full-time 40 hour per week, non-exempt position. Due to the nature of the position, this role is 100% in office to best serve our parishioners. The Church and School of St Peter policy provides for a minimum of 10 paid holidays and 15 days of paid time off (PTO) annually, which can be used for sick leave, vacation and/or personal days. As a full-time employee you are also eligible for health and dental coverage, 403(b) plan, HSA, and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms as well. In addition, we offer a 30% employee discount to all employees whose children are attending the parish Catholic school. These and other available benefits are outlined in our employee manual.

Employment in and by the Roman Catholic Church (hereinafter Church) is substantially different from secular employment. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner which is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals, or laws of the Church, the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, and the Church of Saint Peter in Forest Lake, such that it can embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal. This position does not require that an employee be an active participating Catholic, however it is expected that the employee will have an understanding of the rich tradition and doctrine of the Church and will uphold and enforce the teachings of the Church.

Executive Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)

Due to a pending retirement, we have an opening in the Parish Office for an Executive Administrative Assistant. This part-time role involves providing skilled administrative services to the Pastor, managing both his personal and parish calendars, and ensuring professional and cordial interaction with parishioners, staff, and guests. Work schedule is 3 ½ days per week (28 hours) Tuesday – Friday. Key duties include:

Administrative Assistant Tasks: Serve as the Pastor's personal secretary, manage his appointments and schedules, handle correspondence, maintain records, organize and coordinate meetings and events, and manage travel arrangements.

General Office Administration Tasks: Manage the parish calendar, oversee volunteer receptionists, organize staff meetings, and proofread the weekly bulletin.

Liturgy Responsibilities: Record sacramental records and Mass intentions.

Qualifications: Active in the Catholic faith, strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

Mental and Physical Demands: Effective communication skills, ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, strong PC and software skills, and physical ability to meet job demands.
