“The practice of stewardship is important for the mission of the Church and for the spiritual well-being of each individual Christian. Everyone benefits from the sacrificial gift one makes of his time, talent and treasure.” - Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
Using one’s gift of TIME by growing in relationship to God and by striving faithfully to attend weekly Mass, as the Eucharist is the greatest act of thanksgiving.
Sharing one’s TALENT and skills by utilizing them in some ministry of the parish, or in the greater community.
Giving of one’s TREASURE by contributing a portion of income, trying to take steps toward tithing as referred to in scripture.
Time: In today’s busy world, time is one of the most precious gifts we have. How we spend our time is perhaps the clearest indication of our progress in a life of Christian discipleship. One should never be too busy to have time for prayer, attend Mass, and serve others.
Talents: Our talents are the special blessings that each of us has received from a loving Creator. They are those things that we are especially good at or that we especially like to do. When we serve God and others by sharing our talents, we give something of ourselves, those characteristics that make each of us unique human beings.
Have you taken the Gifts Survey?
The Church of St. Peter offers a Gift Survey. The survey takes about 20 minutes and provides you feedback of your strongest God-given gifts along with suggested volunteer opportunities for sharing those gifts here at St. Peter.
The results may surprise you, puzzle you, or confirm what you already know about yourself. To further explore your giftedness, talk with friends or family members who know you well and, in your prayers, ask God for help in discerning your gifts.
To take the survey, print the Gift Survey questionnaire, find a quiet, unhurried time and complete it.
Are you ready to put your time & talents to use here at St. Peter? Complete the Stewardship Form indicating how you would like to get involved then return it to the parish and someone will be in with contact you.
